Technology is mighty advanced in this modern day and age but man does it break easily! My fab new digital camera broke during the Film Festival and I fear there is no way to breathe life into it again.. So I have decided to take advantage of all the old photos I have on my computer and just try to make them fit into the stories I am telling about contemporary life in Marjaana´s world. So don´t freak out if they don´t in any way have to do with the text, they are from now on only going to be purely for aesthetic pleasure. Enjoy!

shhhhh... this is a secret that only you know, the world hasn`t heard yet! The winner of this years Peace Film Award is "Shooting Dogs". Hope you saw it, if not it will be shown at least on NRK during this spring. So way to go UN, you`ll choke on your own bureaucracy some day.(Hidden aggressions of a peace student..)

It´s just the wierdest thing I tell you.. I got rid of James Blunt almost totally in Finland, heard "You´re beautiful" only once (thank god for that!!) during the whole month I was there. I guess this has to be because Scotty-boy was so far away (for those who don´t know, he is being harrassed by this annoying song continuoulsy which also affects our lives to an extent). We can already feel the effects of Scott being on his way back home. Blunt is also back. To stay. He has a concert in Oslo on the 26th. I wonder when Scott has his birthday? Possible present potential in a concert ticket?

I just read the wierdest piece of news.
We were talking about the year 2005 with my friends after new years and it appears to have been a crappy year in many ways for many people, at least in comparison to 2004 which was the best I (and many others) have experienced so far. Anyway, this tiny news article presents a professor in health psychology from the university of Cardiff. He has come up with a way of actually counting the worst day of the year with the following equation: [W+(D-d)]xTQ/MxNA
Yup. And these things mean:
W= weather
D= debts
d= montly wages
T= time that has passed since Christmas
M= motivation
NA= need to get act together
Q= the day you forgot your promises for the new year
Now this equation gave the professor the result, that his worst day in 2005 was the 24.1. Then because people started compalining about the whole thing, he came up with a new equation to count the most hopeful day of the year which turned out to be the 18.5.
The reason I am telling you guys this is that I think he was actually counting MY worst and most hopeful days!! Seriously! Its hard to say for sure but I have a strong feeling that they land somewhere around those dates.. creepy! I was just wondering if he could come up with an equation to explain why 2005 was crap and 2004 was almost unreal? And what about 2006 then? I guess time will tell=)

Oh man.. what a week! Rovaniemi still manages to melt my heart every time, even though it is Cold. In so many words: had a blast, didn´t want to leave, hope to be able to go back for the massive Beach Party(truck loads of sand dumped into student bar and temperature set to very high: people dancing around in beach attire!) and my friends plays premiere in February. But I´ll leave you guys with a couple of images of the week. See ya!
We stumbled across Euro Night at local student pub and got a zillion drinks for a couple of euros.. had a bit of a headache the next morning.
We went to see my friends baby who was just a couple of days old.. Soooo cute and small! I´m going to start making him a tiny Norwegian jumper.
And then we just plain old had a good time and entertained each other. Like in the good old days=) The wedding on New Years was fab and we also got to spend a few days at my friends summer house, sledging and sitting in the sauna mainly. Sweet!
